Description
Roland's Flagship Mid-level V-Drums Kit with Digital Pads
Roland's latest mid-level electronic kit blurs the lines between flagship performance and real-world affordability. The V-Drums TD-27KV packs the same 14" digital snare, 18" digital ride, and Prismatic Sound Modeling engine as Roland's top-of-the-line TD-50 kits. Yet a streamlined profile — a collapsible rack stand with 10" toms, 12" and 13" cymbals, and a tower-style kick drum — reduce the TD-27KV's footprint to a stage- and studio-friendly form factor. Within the TD-27 module, you'll find the same powerful customizations that made the TD-50 such a game changer. These include virtual head swaps, tuning and damping, snare wire and kick beater subs, and more. Such tweaks are easily accessible within the Roland TD-27: just tap the pad you want to edit, and all options appear onscreen before you. All-new for the TD-27 is Roland's PureAcoustic Ambience Technology, which allows you to adjust direct and ambient mic positions and FX processors at a virtual level for unbelievable realism through headphones. Once you've dialed in your kit, you can route it to your interface via four direct outputs (e.g. stereo L-R, kick drum, snare drum) or inject 28 channels of audio directly into your DAW over USB. Bluetooth streaming from phone to module enhance practice time, as do the onboard coaching functions and metronome. All told, the Roland V-Drums TD-27KV is one of the most eagerly anticipated V-Kits to drop, and one who's value and features drummers at Sweetwater are eager to get behind.

Roland TD-27 Module
Hands-on interface
The TD-27 is one of Roland's most streamlined modules to date. Browsing kits, tweaking sounds, and saving custom presets are walks in the park thanks to its dedicated knobs and hands-on interface. Tuning and muffling have their own controls. And buttons around the jog wheel ensure you never get lost in sub-menus. The knurled knobs and rubberized selectors all feel great in the hands — which is important on a tool you might use for hours on end.
Powerful Prismatic Sound Modeling
Every onboard kit within the Roland TD-27KV is crafted to sound great without tweaks. But for times when you need a custom kit for a particular performance, Prismatic Sound Modeling — derived from the flagship TD-50 — has you covered. You have control over each drum shell's tone and tuning. Each cymbal's size and liveliness. With the Roland TD-27KV, you can even control virtual mic placement to dial in the perfect amount of natural ambience and life. Once you've found your sound, sweeten kick, snare, or toms with onboard FX, including rich reverb and smooth tape-like compression.
Lifelike soundstages through PureAcoustic Ambience Technology
A set of drums is only as inspiring as the room it's played in. The same goes for electronics. Fortunately, Roland's PureAcoustic Ambience Technology, found for the first time in the TD-27KV, creates a natural and immersive soundstage that really makes you feel like you're there. PureAcoustic tech lets you dive deep into sound tweaking, too, allowing you to adjust virtual microphone positions like a real recording studio, then balance each part of the kit with outboard-style FX processors.
Room to expand on
We drummers love to customize our kits. And fortunately, the Roland TD-27KV gives you three additional analog trigger inputs for adding extra pieces down the road.
Output audio and MIDI over USB
Drummers at Sweetwater love our eDrums for home recording. And with the Roland TD-27KV V-Drums, you can do it all over USB — no interface required. Deliver a whopping 28 channels of multitrack audio to your computer over a single USB cable and mix to taste. Or, simply connect the Roland TD-27 module as a USB MIDI interface and re-track your parts with virtual instruments in your DAW. With either option, you get to enjoy recording studiophile drum tracks, even from your apartment, at any time of day.
Import .WAV samples via SD
Whether you're modeling your favorite acoustic kit or using the latest third-party libraries, Roland makes it easy to incorporate custom sounds into your V-Drums TD-27 sound module. High-capacity SDHC cards let you create an arsenal of custom libraries and call them up on your V-Drums at will.
Stream songs over Bluetooth
Onboard Bluetooth gives the Roland TD-27 the edge for practice. Stream music from your phone to the module wirelessly, and play along to your heart's content.
Packed with practice features
Baked-in practice features and an adjustable metronome in the Roland TD-27 take players from fledglings to birds of flight.

TD-27KV Pads and Stand
14" digital snare plays like the real deal
The TD-27KV's snare drum is sophisticated as its sound module. Eight sensors across the 4.3" x 14" Roland PD-140DS's head and rim accurately translate your performance into the electronic realm. This means fat backbeats, cutting rimshots, delicate ghost notes and brush sweeps, and natural cross-sticks that connect every time. And because of its 14" diameter, the Roland PD-140DS transitions seamlessly between your acoustic kit and back. Particular about your tuning? So are we at Sweetwater. Fortunately, the PD-140DS's 8-lug design and 3-ply mesh head make it easy to dial in whatever level of tightness or sponginess you desire.
18" digital ride is Roland's most convincing V-Cymbal yet
Electronic cymbals have a reputation for being utilitarian — a means to end. But the Roland CY-18DR invites players to bring their acoustic touch back to their eKit. This 18" V-Cymbal sways and plays like a real cymbal. Multiple sensors across the playing surface eliminate the feeling of zones; distinct edge, bow, and bell tones melt into one another seamlessly. And the Roland CY-18DR's multi-touch technology not only lets you choke crash attacks with your hand, but also even soften cymbal attacks with a finger's touch. If you have trouble getting the full emotion of a performance to translate through traditional eCymbals, Sweetwater recommends putting the Roland CY-18DR V-Cymbal digital ride through its paces. You won't be disappointed.

Mesh toms, V-Cymbals, and MDS rack stand
The TD-27KV also nets you a trio of Roland's legendary 10" PDX mesh toms and a full outfit of 12" and 13" V-Cymbals. One standout feature is the stand-mounted VH-10 hi-hat. Mounted to your favorite hi-hat stand using the included clutch and trigger base, the VH-10 rewards you with realistic pumps, splashes, and closed-to-open action. Its dual-trigger system is able to capture the nuance in your performance that many others miss. And its textured playing surface reduces acoustic volume to keep practice and performances quiet. It all comes kitted together in a matching black Roland MDS rack stand, which collapses neatly for storage in a closet.
V-Kick supports single and double pedals
The Roland TD-27KV's tower-style bass pad features an adaptive playing surface that responds more like an acoustic drumhead, providing realistic feedback for attack and dynamics. Its redesigned frame greatly reduces physical movement to minimize flexing and scooting. On a rug or carpet, it's rock solid, with spurs to anchor the pad in place. Roland designed the KD-10 to accept single or double pedals, so whatever style of music inspires you, this pad delivers.
